IT was all the fun of the fair in Abingdon last night as the annual Michaelmas Fair came to town.
Daniel Smith, 30, from Abingdon, took his partner’s four-year-old daughter Faye McMahon.
He said: “She is four-and-a-half-years-old so anything with bright lights and sweets she enjoys. She loves going on all the rides.”
He added: “It is a good day out because going to the fair is exciting – it doesn’t matter whether you are four or 40.
“And it’s in your back yard, you don’t have to go all the way to Alton Towers.”
The fair ends tonight and Ock Street and Market Place will be closed and diversions in place until 9am tomorrow.
The traditional Michaelmas Fair church service was held on Sunday at 8pm in the Market Place.
A smaller fair – The Runaway Fair – will take place in the Market Place on Monday.
