AMATEUR actors are bringing their own production of the Little Shop of Horrors musical to a stage in Witney.

Witney Dramatic Society is putting on the show at the Corn Exchange in Market Square later this week.

The cast and crew of 20 have been preparing for the show since the start of June.

Director, choreographer and actor Stephen Piper said: “It is probably one of the most ambitious things we have ever put on.

“We have gone all out on this one.”

Mr Piper, 23, will play the lead role of florist Seymour Krelborn – a part he has already played when he was a 16-year-old pupil at Carterton Community College.

Now a dance teacher at Oxford and Cherwell Valley College, he said: “It is one of my favourite musicals. I have always wanted to do my own thing with it and put my stamp on it.”

The rock musical will be performed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7.30pm. There will also be a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets cost £9 on the door, or from Rapture in the Woolgate Shopping Centre or Renaissance in Wesley Walk.
