Summertown Stars registered their first league win in their match against AFC Brightwell winning 6-2, which saw Jack Dark score four and set up two.

It was an all-round team performance that belied their lowly league position. Starting brightly Summertown stormed into a 3 goal lead with Max Liddy getting on to the end of a left wing Dark cross following James Othen's delightful through ball.

Dark then scored two goals from distance and with the Stars defence resolute and well organised by Sam Winiarski playing in an unfamiliar cente-back role they seemed to be cruising but two classy dribbling runs and finishes two minutes apart by Sam Gould and Kye Johnson saw Brightwell right back in the match to go into half-time 3-2 down and in contention.

The second half was very much Summertown's with the wind and slope in their favour and it wasn't long before Dark reached his hat-trick, before James Othen deservedly got on the scoresheet following Dark's throw-in. Brightwell didn't give up and attacked when possible, with Matthew Ritz standing out in defence and driving his team forward, they were desperately unlucky when a great lob from 25 yards bounced cruelly against the crossbar with the keeper, Alex Ansdell, well beaten.

Dark completely his scoring with his last contribution with a another goal from outside of the penalty area and the Brightwell goalie, Adam Smith, kept the score down further as Summertown drove forward save in the knowledge the game was won.
