A woman who died after being found at the side of the A420 was not hit by a car, a post-mortem has revealed.
The 81-year-old woman, who was found near Faringdon on Tuesday afternoon, died from head injuries.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious and an inquest is due to be opened later today.
Sgt Pete Jell said: “I would like to thank the media for their assistance with our appeal for witnesses yesterday.
“Following the appeal, the driver of a grey coloured hatchback was located and able to help us with our inquiry.
“As the post-mortem examination showed the woman had not been in collision with a car, the matter has now been handed over to the coroner’s office.”
