Two cyclists will be pedalling hard for charity next month as they make their way from Oxford to Barcelona.

Simon Griffiths and Jon Carter start their trip on September 9 at the Sheldonian Theatre and hope to arrive in Barcelona nine days later.

The pair are cycling the 950- mile route to raise money for construction charity Article 25 which provides shelter for those in poverty or who have suffered from disaster.

Mr Carter, who lives in Didcot, said: “We are both in the construction industry and we are both quite keen cyclists.

“We started planning it last year so I am looking forward to it now.

“We have just got to keep pedalling.”

The pair cycled from London to Paris last year and this time their route will take them across the Channel, through France and into Spain.
