A HOST of crafty family activities proved a hit at an East Oxford arts centre.

Youngsters, teens and parents had a chance to try out everything from mask-making to customising clothes at Fusion Arts, East Oxford Community Centre, Princes Street, yesterday.

Tara Murtagh-Stewart took her three-year-old daughter Molly along.

She said: “It was great fun.

“She made a mask, decorated a T-shirt, made a picture and a birthday card for her friend so she really made the most of it.

“She loves messing about with paint and glitter and it was nice for her to try out all the new different materials there.”

Centre co-ordinator Lizzy McBain said more family-friendly activities were planned at the centre.

She said: “We’ve got a really buzzy, vibrant space but we haven’t really got any family art activities at the moment.

”This was the first of what we hope will become a popular after-school or weekend activity.”
