A South Hinksey woman is turning her recycling into quirky artwork and gifts.
For the past year, Maria Banks, from Manor Road, has been saving up all her glass bottles and jars — and squashing them.
Once squashed, the bottles are transformed into gifts, including clocks and dishes.
Ms Banks said: “I saw something similar abroad and thought I could do it myself. I’ve been playing and messing about and getting better shapes.
“It evolved from there.”
Ms Banks uses an industrial kiln to heat the bottles to the right temperature before shaping the hot glass.
She said: “It’s something really different and people love them. It’s becoming a massive talking piece.”
