OXFORD United chairman Kelvin Thomas put in some elbow grease as he helped firemen wash cars for charity in Woodstock.
The event was staged to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity and to try to boost recruitment at the station.
The U’s boss said after Saturday’s event: “It went well and it was interesting doing it in full fire kit.
“We are always looking for different things to do in the community, and we are keen to help out in the future on road safety campaigns and other fire service initiatives.”
Watch manager Nick Mason said: “We are struggling a bit at the moment so might need to get new recruits in, and this was a good way of showing we are here.
“Kelvin worked really hard and I think he thoroughly enjoyed it. We want to do more work with the club to raise awareness of our 365 campaign to save that many lives over 10 years.”
