I read with total disbelief the letter by Roy Darke.
When all the streets of Oxford are littered with cars, which not only make the street look ugly and a mess but interfere with the movement of both vehicles and pedestrians, we do not need a reduction in the number of off-street parking places. Pretty obviously, we need many more.
Oxford City Council also wants to build on St Clement’s car park – such ideas are not going to work and should be stopped immediately.
It seems that, quite often, the council will not listen to common sense and is hell-bent on getting the go-ahead for these harebrained schemes.
I also read that they were looking at the Ferry Link car park as a possible building site.
It does make one wonder who thinks up these barmy ideas.
The trouble is that councillors always think they are right even when they are obviously wrong.
