SHOPPERS in Oxford saw a man being chased by bees, hunted by wolves and staging a bank robbery in a bizarre street theatre performance.
Nick Warburton brought his Surreal World of Edmond Tahl show to Templars Square in Cowley on Saturday.
The mime, who has performed all over the world and at festivals including Glastonbury, said: “I got a good reaction. As far as shopping centres go it was probably the best one I’ve done.”
Describing his act, he added: “It’s surrealist mime with a soundtrack – music and sound effects.
“Traditional mime is all about trying to make people believe something is there, but I look at it the opposite way. I want to make people believe something is happening, that I’m being chased by wolves or staging a bank robbery, before realising that it’s not real. It’s anti-mime.”
