GIRLS went wild for a good cause with a ladies’ night to raise money for meningitis survivor Charlotte Nott, and Oxford hospice Helen & Douglas House.

Scores of women packed into Rose Hill Social Club for the cheeky charity night which saw drag queens and strippers take to the stage.

Among the crowd was Charlotte’s mum, Jenny Daniels, of Horspath, who watched as the outrageous acts strutted their stuff.

Organiser Tessa Dunkley said: “When you’ve got children and your children are healthy it makes you think.

“People from Blackbird Leys and all over came, and Charlotte’s mum and family were there to. They were touched by it and said thank you for organising it.”

The night raised money through ticket sales and a raffle offering beauty treats, pampering prizes and dining experiences.

She added: “There must have been about 150 people there.

“It all started at 7.30pm on Saturday and the drag queen came on at about 9pm and then a male stripper, then the drag act came back out and there was another stripper.

“The audience loved it, the drag act was absolutely hilarious. I told them that people aren’t easily shocked, so they didn’t hold back!”
