People convicted of offences at Oxford Magistrates' Court recently:

Florica Barbu, 38, of Crumpsall Street, Bolton, admitted shoplifting food valued at £77.29 from Nisa Local in Oxford on April 19. Given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Francisca Rita, 33, of Gresham Road, Oldbury, West Midlands, admitted to shoplifting food valued at £77.29 from Nisa Local in Oxford on April 19. Given an 18-month conditional discharge and told to pay £35 costs.

Stephen Cooney, 42, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting three packs of razor blades from Waitrose in Wantage on April 21. Told to carry out 100 hours’ unpaid work and pay £65 costs.

Phillip Jones, 46, of Stuart Way, Thame, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Thame cricket field on February 1. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £35 costs.

Alan Bedborough, 29, of St Thomas Street, Oxford, admitted possession of ketamine (Class C) in Oxford on March 25. Given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Brian Brown, 47, of Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge, Middlesex, admitted shoplifting three dresses and two tops valued at £635 from Hobb’s and two suits valued at £498 from Moss Bros in Oxford on March 27. Given a three-month jail term, suspended for a year, and given 12 months of supervision.

Mark Harvey, 45, of Underhill Circus, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Manzil Way, Oxford, on April 20. Fined £25 and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.

Michael Sestanovich, 28, of HMP Winchester, admitted stealing a pedal cycle valued at £1,000 in Oxford on September 21. Jailed for eight weeks.

Leslie Shaw, 46, of Hillsleigh Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, admitted shoplifting a pair of diamond earrings valued at £2,250, an 18ct gold Egyptian revival ring valued at £1,950 and a pair of diamond cufflinks valued at £950 from Howards Jewellers in Great Milton between April 8, 2010, and February 28, 2011. Told to pay £9,000 compensation and ordered to do 150 hours’ unpaid work with 12 months’ supervision.

Janice East, 54, of Rose Hill, Oxford, admitted possession of 1.76g of heroin (Class A) and 21.44g of crack cocaine (Class A) in Oxford on November 26. Jailed to four months because “no other method appropriate, amount of drugs and previous record”.

Michael Edwards, 24, of Horspath Road, Oxford, admitted assaulting Pc Gordon Kille in Oxford on March 23 and stealing a bottle of beer valued at £1.09 in Oxford on April 11. Given 140 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £50 costs and a total of £51.09 compensation.

Adrian Prescott, 26, of Kestrel Crescent, Oxford, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Oxford on November 28. Given a year’s supervision and told to do 40 hours’ unpaid work. Told to pay the victim £1,324 compensation and pay £85 costs.

David Bujalksi, 33, of no fixed address, admitted shoplifting two bottles of wine valued at £10 from Asda in Wheatley on May 5. Given a six-month conditional discharge.

Stuart Gallacher, 46, of no fixed address, admitted outraging public decency by engaging in sexual activity in public in Oxford on April 14. Fined £100 and a £15 victims’ surcharge, deemed payable by detention in the court until the end of the day.

Carlos Vicente, 26, of Wilkins Road, Oxford, admitted failing to provide a roadside breath sample in Oxford on April 23. Fined £250, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Grant Hart, 21, of Townsend Square, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Park End Street, Oxford, on April 16 and failing to surrender to court bail on May 4. Fined £75 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Marc Porter, 34, of Gordon Woodward Way, Oxford, admitted: shoplifting Gold Blend coffee and Ariel Excel gels from Sainsbury’s on March 4; shoplifting two handbags from Oasis in Oxford on February 21; shoplifting two bottles of whisky from Marks & Spencer in Oxford on February 18; breaching a community order by failing to keep in touch with the responsible officer on January 28; and failing to attend a follow-up drug assessment on April 11. Original offences of two charges of shoplifting resentenced. Given 12 months’ supervision and a six-month drug-rehabilitation order.

Simon Masterson, 38, of Waynflete Road, Oxford, admitted harassment between July 1, 2010 and February 2, 2011 by using “verbal threats and intrusive behaviour”. Given an indefinite restraining order and fined £85 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Tara Franklin, 36, of Brocklesby Road, Oxford, admitted using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence in Oxford on February 1, and failing to surrender to court bail on February 24. Given a 12-month conditional discharge, excluded from the William Morris pub in Cowley for a year and ordered to pay £20 costs.

James Lewis, 20, of Emperor Gardens, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Oxford on March 30. Given a year’s supervision and told to participate in a community domestic-violence programme. Given a two-year restraining order on the victim and told to pay her £500 compensation and £65 costs.

Faith House, 19, of New High Street, Oxford, admitted driving without a licence, without insurance and drink driving in London Road, Oxford, on April 30. Namely having 67 mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg. Fined £185, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs. Banned from driving for 18 months.
