THE winners of the annual pram race on Oxford’s Barton estate received an impressive trophy. The 1966 winners, seen in the first picture, were Mr E Ballard, left, and Mr J Trendell, second from right.
The trophy was presented on behalf of the Pot and Winkle Club, whose members all belonged to the British Legion, by Mr J Watson, second left, who was known as ‘King Pot’. The man on the right is Mr B Timms, who gave the trophy.
The second picture shows two members of the Barton Community Association having a gossip over a cup of tea in 1960.
In the third picture, Lee Spencer and Ashley Harvey, both eight, are seen taking part in Barton Village School’s litter blitz in 1994.
