A £105,000 cycle path is to be built alongside Burford Road in Carterton, to improve links between the 1,500-home Shilton Park development and the town centre.
Oxfordshire County Council’s cabinet member for transport, Rodney Rose, approved the plan at a meeting on Thursday.
The new route will be provided by widening the pavement between Brizewood and Brize Norton Road on the eastern side of the road.
A contribution from housing developers of £85,000 will go towards the cost of the scheme.
