SO, the Insider reveals in the Oxford Mail (July 28) that former Oxfordshire County Council roads supremo Ian Hudspeth provided the ways and means to ‘keep the beer flowing’ in his local by lending them a generator.
Well, it’s nice to know he’s finally managed to get something flowing in Oxfordshire. If he’d done it with the traffic, he’d still be in the job!
He’s now seemingly joined the rest of us ‘oiks’ who apparently spend all our money on beer, bets and baccy, as described in the Oxford Mail by his former boss Keith Mitchell some months ago.
The point of view ‘he was actually no good at that job’ may go some way to perhaps promptly answering the Insider’s (rhetorically) penned question.
Living as he does in the farmers’ market belt, ‘Hudspeth’s Oxfordshire Jams’ really should make him a household name, shouldn’t it?
It has here in mine, although I do concede, at least he’s put the expression ‘drunk with power’ into some kind of context.
Fair play to him for that at least!
Cheers, Mr Hudspeth!
