PUPILS are West Kidlington Primary School held a Mexican evening in 1970, with an operetta, colour film and displays, all with a Mexican theme. Among those who dressed for the occasion were, left to right, Stephen Bowerman, Christopher Granville and Paul Symonds, seen in the first picture.

Brave or silly? Jane Kneeshaw, 14, in the second picture, volunteered to be the victim on the ‘Ducking the maid’ stall at Gosford Hill School fete in 1969. More than 4,000 people attended the event, which raised £1,500 towards the school swimming pool fund.

Pupils at West Kidlington Primary School spent a morning at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford in 1963 on project work. They are seen in the third picture being shown an exhibit by Miss J Greenwood.
