Many of Oxfordshire’s top estate agents will be at the CLA Game Fair this weekend.

Savills and Strutt & Parker are official sponsors and Carter Jonas and John D Wood have stands.

Carter Jonas will be offering advice to anyone who lives on or near the route for the High Speed 2 rail link that will link London and Birmingham.

It says published guidelines suggest around 150 properties will qualify for noise mitigation measures and another 4,700 may experience noticeable increase in noise levels.

Surveyor Jonathan Perks, of the Carter Jonas HS2 team, said: “Subject to government approval, the link is likely to be constructed between 2016 and 2026.

“On the immediate route there will be compulsory purchases and dwellings affected by their proximity to the line.

“There are a lot of people wondering how they might be affected, so we have formed an experienced team drawn from our rural, mineral and planning divisions, to inform and advise people.

“The initial consultation period closes at the end of July, and while people can familiarise themselves to a certain extent, each property and situation is likely to be affected differently.”

About 140,000 people are expected to attend the event which runs from July 22-24 at Blenheim Palace.
