A FORMER wasteland at a Bicester pre-school is to be transformed into a sensory wildlife garden.
Staff from Bicester Avenue Garden Centre in Oxford Road joined forces with youngsters who attend Rainbow Pre-School in Hendon Place to work on the new garden. They have also donated plants and garden furniture to help the youngsters make the most of their new space.
Pre-school business manager Roz Edwards said: “We recently moved into a purpose-built eco building, which has allowed us to increase the number of children we can care for.
“The new site, which is a part of Glory Farm Primary School, has a large area of wasteland, which we think would be ideal as a garden.”
Garden centre events manager Jeanette Cocklin said staff were delighted to be able to help. She said: “Not only are we planning on creating a nice outdoor area, we also hope it will allow the children to learn all about plants, insects and animals.”
