Police have discovered the body of a woman in a field in Great Tew.
The death is being treated as unexplained at this time, however is not believed to be suspicious.
The body is believed to be that of missing woman Ingrid Frithz, of Chipping Norton. Her next of kin have been informed.
Area Commander Chief Insp Colin Paine said: “Thames Valley Police officers worked very hard to locate Ingrid and I am tremendously sad for her family and friends that this did not have a more positive outcome. I would ask that they are left to grieve in peace and their privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult time.”
He said the case would be passed to the Oxfordshire Coroner to arrange formal identification and establish the cause of death.
He said police would not be releasing any further information in relation to the circumstances of the death.
