Drivers faced long delays in both directions on the A34 this afternoon after a lorry crashed into the central reservation.
The HGV hit the barrier at about 3.45pm, just north of the Milton interchange on the southbound carriageway.
Chris Kearney, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said the driver managed to park the lorry in a lay-by following the collision, but debris has spread over both carriageways.
“There was a lot of debris on both carriageways so we have had to close the A34 in both directions.”
James Wright, a spokesman for the Highways Agency, said: “The driver of the HGV was okay and there were no casualties in other vehicles, so we hope that will limit the length of the police investigation.”
