THE Oxford Mail recently printed a letter I wrote regarding garden waste.
I am writing again to applaud P Howard’s letter of May 4 on the same subject, but would like to make plain that each household was given only one free green bag.
If you needed any more you could have had as many as you liked for the sum of £7.50 each.
I bought two of these for my average-sized garden (with ill grace, having to take out nine trees that I was reluctant to get rid of) but could not afford to buy all those extra bags on my pension.
To now be told that they will not collect these bags, and that we have to buy a brown bin for £35 a year, is an insult.
I hope other people will not just moan but write of their feelings on this.
