TV antiques dealer David Dickinson is on the look-out for undiscovered treasure in Witney for his latest show.
The Real Deal show will be filmed at the Windrush Leisure Centre, in Witan Way, on Saturday. The show invites members of the public to bring along their antiques to be valued and sold on air.
Real Deal is the most viewed daytime show on ITV, regularly pulling in more than a million viewers.
The Witney filming, which is free to attend, will be part of show’s seventh season and will be screened in September.
Dean Bundy, researcher on the show, said: “We are looking forward to coming back to Oxfordshire. It was a great success last time we were there.”
The last local show was filmed at Oxford United’s Kassam Stadium, in Grenoble Road, for season five of the show, in 2009.
As well as Mr Dickinson, TV valuers Brenda Haller, James Layte and Simon Schneider will also be on hand.
Antiques brought along by members of the public will be valued off-screen at first. If the items are chosen to appear on-air, valuers will then make an offer based on their estimation of the piece’s worth.
The owner of the antique can then either choose to take the cash or put it up for auction.
Filming takes place between 9am-5pm. For more information, call 0117 970 7618.
