CORNBURY Park echoed to the sound of finely-tuned engines as rally enthusiasts flocked to West Oxfordshire.

The Charlbury estate hosted the Rally Show, which had been staged at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire in previous years, on Saturday and yesterday.

About 200 rally-car owners were able to drive their vehicles around a mile-long track while some visitors could hitch a ride in the new BMW Mini WRC car.

Show spokesman Liam Clogger said: “It’s the first year in a new location and the general consensus was it has found itself a new home.

“I’m really pleased that it seems to have been a good, solid attendance so we hope it can position itself on the local calendar.”
