A survey of police officers shows they believe budget cuts will impact on crime.
The work was carried out by the Police Federation and although the national response rate was 30 per cent, we must take it seriously.
It is understandable officers will not break rank and openly criticise cuts. But these views, given anonymously, are a clear indication that those on the frontline who deal with problems day in day out fear the worse.
