Sir – Last Thursday, I tripped over the low kerb wall in the Summertown car park. I fell flat on my face and was so surprised that I didn’t move. Three youngsters were playing nearby. They asked if I was OK.

I thank them for their concern. I then heard feet running towards me.

A doctor’s receptionist, familiar with first aid, and two men with her, checked my cuts and bruises, checked that no bones were broken, eventually sat me up, stood me up and escorted me to my car where my wife was surprised to see four of us approaching.

I have no idea who helped me. I am most grateful and would like to thank them through the pages of your paper.
