A CHILDREN’S drumming group well known in East Oxford for its appearances at community events is back after a year’s absence.
St Christopher’s CofE Primary School dhol drumming group was put on hold last year when teacher Chris Hills took a break to tour India and South Asia.
Now he has returned, and brought back new rhythms.
He said: “The school is very multicultural, and the sound of dhol drumming is particularly resonant for Banglandeshi and Punjabi people.”
The group will appear at the Cowley Carnival in July and at the Leveller’s Day celebrations in Burford in May.
