A food delivery driver who dumped veggie burgers on a roadside verge landed up with a bill of more than £1,000.
Gary Rothwell, 51, admitted breaching the Environmental Protection Act.
Banbury magistrates heard Rothwell realised he had forgotten to drop two boxes of burgers in High Wycombe. But instead of going back, he dumped the food in a lane off Overthorpe Road, Banbury.
Cherwell District Council traced labels on the boxes and linked the food to Rothwell’s lorry.
Rothwell, of Station Road, Whitwell, near Worksop, in Nottinghamshire, was fined £100 and ordered him to pay £150 costs, £765.20 for the clean-up and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
