The Coalition Government’s latest wacky idea called the Red Tape Challenge actually poses a significant risk to all our environmental legislation and must be exposed.
We’re all aware just how fragile our natural world is and how it relies on legal protection.
Current legislation including the Wildlife and Countryside Act protects things like wild birds and their nests, special places from development, and regulates national parks and marine protected areas.
These restrictions cannot be considered red tape.
They are vital tools in the fight against unrestrained human activity which causes so much damage.
All of our vital environmental safeguards are now under threat with the Government’s plan to scrap as much regulation as possible, and totally contradicts its claim to be the greenest government ever.
Is it that their Green agenda is all spin and no substance?
