OXFORD City Council paid out thousands of pounds to have the small square recycling bins made.
It then scrapped them and gave everyone a large blue bin on wheels.
It also issued large garden waste bags, which were given to everyone for free and which were emptied every two weeks for free.
Now the sacks are to be done away with, and we will have to pay to get our garden waste taken away.
The council has wasted so much money on bins and bags and now wants us to pay for what was free. People put themselves out to recycle and I don’t think anyone will want to pay these charges.
We know the council’s budget has been cut, but it should not expect us to pay to make up the shortfall. It already gets too much from us in council tax.
