A CHARITY that works with young people at risk of becoming involved in crime raised £200 for injured war heroes with a fancy dress football tournament.

Trax, which is based at Red Barn Farm, North Oxford, offers qualifications in motor mechanics and other skills to young people aged 13 to 21.

A group of young people from the organisation hosted a fundraising football tournament in aid of Help for Heroes.

About eight teams entered the contest at the Iffley Road sports complex on Wednesday.

Staff from Trax joined in the games in fancy dress.

Youth and Connexions worker Olivia Hallett, who took part dressed as a sumo wrestler, said the day had been organised as part of a course which makes the youngsters more employable.

She said: “Normally the young people will organise a cake sale or a car wash. But this year the team really went for it.

“The lads did it themselves, we were all really impressed with them.”
