President Obama has rightly condemned the killing of civilians in Libya as “outrageous and unacceptable”.
Prime Minister David Cameron has said that “the world is watching...and those responsible will be held accountable.”
What a pity that this condenmation and threats of accountability were not made when Israeli ‘defence’ forces were massacring 1,400 civilians in Gaza – 300 of them children, several of whom were burned to death by white phosphorous.
Conversely, the United States shamefully uses its veto blocking a Security Council resolution condemning Israel for its continued construction of settlements in the illegally-occupied West Bank, virtually giving a green light to further blatant disregard for UN resolutions and International Law. More double standards?
