This was as tight a match as the scoreline suggests, and both teams could have had more.
Steventon took the lead twice in the first half, opening the scoring with a cross-shot from the right by Matthew KINCHEN which looped into the far corner. Quarry equalised with a strong run and positive finish by captain Ivan TROFIMOV. Steventon re-took the lead when Jamie BALLARD went through. Good speed by Sean ROUNDING allowed him to cut the ball back for Ivan TROFIMOV's second and a half time score of 2-2.
Quarry had the better of the second half, although both goals were frequently threatened. Quarry hit the post through Ben SMITH, before Jack ASTLES-ROLLINS took the points with a neat finish on the far post.
