IT is a huge disappointment that there will be no carnival along Cowley Road this year.
There just seems no way round the problem that neighbouring Iffley Road will be closed for much-needed repairs.
Organisers do a good job putting on the complementary event in South Park but the carnival is the stand-out on Oxford’s calendar.
The carnival will be back but these cancellations damage the ‘brand’.
