Masked raiders threatened a 12-year-old girl during a robbery at a house in Upper Arncott.

Police said four masked men knocked at the door of a property in Murcott Road, Upper Arncott, near Bicester.

The men entered the house after the homeowner opened the door and, armed with a hammer and knives, threatened the occupants of the house – a 62-year-old man, a 54-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl – and stole cash, jewellery and mobile phones.

The robbery happened at about 7pm on Sunday, but details were only released this afternoon.

Det Con Jill Morton said: “A dark-coloured vehicle was seen leaving the area after the men left the property, which drove off in the direction of Murcott.

“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who was travelling along the roads between Upper Arncott and Murcott, who may have seen the vehicle the men are thought to have left in.

“Incidents of this type are extremely uncommon and I would like to reassure local residents that everything that can be done to catch those responsible is being done.
