DOG owners in Oxford lapped up the chance to have their pets microchipped at a free event.
Oxford City Council offered free microchips to 40 dogs at Rose Hill Community Centre on Saturday.
A vet and a council street warden, Louis Walker, were on hand to dispense advice between 10am and 4pm.
Rose Hill resident Robert Reynolds took along rottweiler-crosses Cain and Blade. He said: “It was a good event. We got both the dogs chipped so if they go missing they can be traced and brought back to us.
“We had been thinking about getting them microchipped, so when I read in the Oxford Mail about the service, I rang up straight away.”
