IN THE current climate, it seems almost laughable that nearly £500,000 has been set aside to fight “Al-Qaeda-inspired extremism”.
It is, however, a sensitive issue, and one that is very difficult for the ordinary person to judge. How will we ever know if the cash helped thwart a future violent attack?
Let’s just hope the leftover money can now be spent on saving local services.
