PETROL substitute at 19p a litre (Oxford Mail, February 1)? You must be joking!
Once it came onto the market, the chancellor of the day would immediately tax it at the same rate as petrol.
Being a ‘non-pollutant’ may well be a selling point, but no chancellor is going to miss an opportunity to raise extra tax on motorists.
A cheap substitute? Dream on.
