PUPILS are taking their school leaving party into their own hands by booking the O2 Academy in Oxford for a night of music and revelry.
Seven youngsters from Didcot Girls’ School are organising the party for classmates and the town’s boys’ school, St Birinus.
The event on July 14 will feature music and a collection for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Andrew Wise, 43, whose 15-year-old daughter Charlotte is one of the organisers, said: “The girls have organised this all themselves and are doing it for a good cause. They are hoping to sell up to 800 tickets.”
They are looking for sponsorship from businesses to offset the cost of the event.
Newbury Building Society and the Tree House play centre in Didcot have already agreed to sponsor the event.
Tickets cost £20 and will be on sale at Newbury Building Society in Broadway, Didcot.
