Ardington Eagles soared on the wind to bring down high flying Hanney. With the strong wind behind them, Eagles committed to all out attack and romped into a 4-0 lead at half-time, including a wind-assisted goal direct from a corner. Second half was a different story with Hanney pressing hard but the Eagles defence held firm and a breakaway goal made it 5-0 early in the second half. Hanney responded strongly with two quick goals to set up a nervous ending for Eagles as Hanney, with their tails up, attacked in waves. Eagles resisted with some fine last ditch defending and one more goal apiece made the final score 6-3.
