IT was so sad to read of busker Dyk Brooker ’s death (Oxford Mail, January 27).
He brought many smiles on cold, dull mornings, sat on his chair outside the Woolgate Centre in Witney; playing away on his melodeon.
He always reminded me of the song Poppa Piccolino and I loved the “God Bless” notice in his case into which I always tossed a donation.
I, for one, will miss listening to him. He always made me feel good.
I hope he continues to entertain in the afterlife.
Old characters never really die; Dyk’s memory will live for ever.
