A 17-year-old boy suffered a stab injury during a robbery in Oxford last night.

The boy was sitting in his car in a car park outside the Oxsrad sports and leisure centre in Marsh Lane, Marston, when he was approached by several people at about 7.50pm.

He was ordered to hand over his mobile phone and keys before being stabbed once with a knife in the ribs. The boy managed to raise the alarm at the nearby Co-op store and the emergency services were called.

The boy was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for treatment.

Police said his injury was not life-threatening and he was expected to be released from hospital later today.

Two people, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody.
