Police are appealing for information after two cars were vandalised in a car park in Chipping Norton.

At about 2.30pm on Sunday, two people, thought to be men, were seen hanging around the car park in New Street.

One of them was seen to walk over to a parked red Peugeot 406, enter the car via a front door and release the car’s handbrake, allowing it to roll down the hill the car park is on.

The car smashed into a fence causing damage to both the car and fence.

They then proceeded to smash all the windows of a silver Fiat Brava parked in the same car park, before leaving the scene.

PC Andy Ball said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, who saw or heard anything.

“Incidents of this nature are totally unacceptable and show a complete disrespect for the property of others.

“It will not be tolerated here in Chipping Norton, or anywhere in the Thames Valley. I urge anyone who knows anything about these incidents to contact me as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Ball via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
