CAMPAIGNERS believe they may have won the battle to save the former Blenheim and Woodstock railway station.
Berkeley Homes has abandoned controversial plans to knock down the station, which was closed in 1954.
The Oxford Road building now looks likely to be converted into workshops under new plans before West Oxfordshire District Council.
Up to 31 homes would also be built on the site, and two offices and the upper floor of another building would be converted into homes.
Youngs Garage and other outbuildings would be demolished.
Rectory Lane resident Dennis Allen, picture, who has campaigned against previous plans, said: āIām very, very pleased. It saves the station and preserves that entrance into Woodstock.ā
