A CYCLIST was in hospital with a fractured skull tonight after his bike skidded on ice and was involved in a collision with a bus.
The accident happened in Benson Lane, Crowmarsh Gifford, near its junction with the A4074, shortly before 9am today.
The air ambulance was called from nearby RAF Benson but the man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford, by road.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police said the road was closed between the A4074 and The Street until about 12.45pm.
Temperatures had dropped to -3C last night, causing widespread frost.
Police spokesman Rebecca Webber said the collision was an “accident caused by icy conditions”.
The Met Office said it did not expect the cold snap to last into the weekend, with temperatures reaching 5C over the next few days.
