I was very pleased to see that the latest published carbon emissions for Temple Cowley Pools shows them rated at 37 and grade B, well below the expected value of 100 and grade D/E.
This significant decrease in carbon emissions (a third of the previous year’s figure) is due to Fusion’s improved management of the centre.
The previous year’s high figure, – 10 per cent of the council’s overall emissions – was one of the main reasons given by Oxford City Council for closing the pool. This argument has now gone.
I would hope that the council will revisit this crazy idea to close Temple Cowley Pools which would deprive the public of their exercise and health facility in East Oxford.
Then we can all continue to relax and enjoy the pool for at least another 30 years.
