Sir – I would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who has supported CLIC Sargent, the children and young people’s cancer charity, throughout 2010.
With the help of local families, groups, businesses and schools we have raised over £65,000 in Oxfordshire alone! This is enough to fund a CLIC Sargent Nurse at the John Radcliffe Children’s Hospital for a whole year and pay for the running costs of CLIC Court, our Homes from Home in Oxford for nine months.
In the next 24 hours, another ten children and young people will be diagnosed with cancer. CLIC Sargent will be there from the point of diagnosis to help the whole family cope with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.
At the moment, we can only support two out of three families but with the continued support of local people, we can ensure we support every family in Oxfordshire during 2011 and beyond.
Once again, my sincerest thanks to everyone who has supported CLIC Sargent.
