Police today appealed for information after a teeanger was attacked in Banbury.

An 18-year-old man was at the junction of Hightown Road and Oxford Road at 12.50am on Sunday when he was approached by two men who assaulted him and attempted to steal his watch and mobile phone.

The man struggled with the two men, who then ran off and possibly got into a small blue hatchback.

The two men are described as white and both were wearing dark-coloured hooded tops with the hoods up and tied tightly around their faces.

PC John Muldoon said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in this area who may have seen these two men prior to this incident, or saw two men matching this description in a car similar to the one described.

“I would also be keen to speak with the driver of a white car that beeped its horn during the attack.

“I would urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Muldoon via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
