DEAR Mr Mitchell, rubbish! Can you please think carefully about the proposal to close the Redbridge waste recycling centre to the public?

Prior to the centre being opened, within a quarter mile of here, we saw flytipping that defied belief, such as two dozen car tyres; a van-load of house clearance waste, black rubbish sacks, large chuncks from felled trees, oil drums, a bath, doors... I could go on.

The area has been free of flytipping for ages now, but if Redbridge closes to the public, I expect the worst.

I undertake to keep you informed of the situation as it deteriorates.

PETER COLLINS, Highway, Hinksey Hill
