Ardington started off strongly forcing Cholsey’s keeper to come out and clear the ball. Cholsey kept up the pressure and Charlie’s first shot was just wide of the post. Charlie and William had two more fantastic shots which were just wide of the post.

Following an Ardington corner, great passing between Cholsey’s defence, midfield and forwards enabled Freddie to take a blind shot whist turning which thumped Ardington’s post. Ardington came back but William Thomas, in defence, tackled and stole the ball; with an accurate pass he sent it down the wing to Charlie who quickly passed it onto Joe who was one on one with the keeper and slotted it home. Cholsey were relived to score before half time.

In the second half Ardington continued to press Chosley but Freddie, Joe and Charlie worked well and created two more chances; Freddie hit the post again.

Ardington pressed again; a great corner created Ardington’s first goal, and it was well deserved. Cholsey didn’t learn from this and soon gave a needless corner away from a backpass. The corner was accurate and fast and was bundled into the goal by what appeared to be several Ardington legs a minute before full time.

Ardington dominated the second game. Cholsey’s keeper Lucas was fast becoming a gymnast – jumping here there and everywhere to stop as many goals as possible – which one him Cholsey’s Man of the Match.
