COMMUTERS were facing more travel misery on the A44 at Woodstock tonight after three smashes on the A34 caused delays.

Three vehicles were in collision at 7.30pm, closing the road at Yarnton.

The driver of a Citroen BX van is being treated at the scene for neck injuries.

A Volkswagen Polo and Citroen Xsara were also involved.

Drivers earlier faced delays on the A34 at Oxford.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa was in collision with a black Audi on the southbound turn off slip road at 2.10pm.

The male Corsa driver was freed by firefighters and taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford with suspected chest injuries.

A Citroen Berlingo van then collided with the central reservation by the Bagley Wood Road bridge, Kennington at about 4.15pm. The driver was not injured.

A collision on the southbound slip road by the Peartree roundabout at 5.10pm then led to delays.

A Peugeot 206 collided with a Volvo, blocking two lanes. The female Peugeot driver was freed by firefighters and had a neck and hand injury.

She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital but her injuries were not life threatening.
